Cybersecurity leader Fortinet has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, spotlighting the company’s ongoing efforts to integrate environmental responsibility, social impact, and governance practices into its core operations. The report showcases Fortinet’s commitments across climate action, cybersecurity education, ethical governance, and AI innovation in cyber defense.

Key Highlights from Fortinet’s 2024 Sustainability Report:
- Innovation in AI-Powered Cybersecurity: Fortinet issued 1,400+ patents and became a signatory to CISA’s Secure by Design pledge, reinforcing secure development practices.
- Cybercrime Disruption: Partnering with INTERPOL and WEF, Fortinet contributed to over 1,000 arrests, dismantled 134,000+ malicious networks, and helped recover $44M USD in 2024.
- Climate Leadership: The company’s science-based emissions targets were validated by SBTi, and its new FortiGate models are 61% more energy-efficient than previous versions.
- Sustainable Packaging: Fortinet expanded plastic-free packaging to 86 top products, reducing 387 metric tons of CO2e and 77 metric tons of plastic.
- Cybersecurity Skills Development: Over 630,000 individuals trained since 2022. Fortinet also joined the EU Cybersecurity Skills Academy, pledging to train 75,000 people in the region by 2027.
- Governance and Compliance: 100% of top contract manufacturers and distributors completed ethics training; the company also expanded ISO 27001/17/18 and SOC 2 Type II certifications.
