AKAI Brings Nature-Inspired Glass Finish Refrigerators with Advanced Cooling and Storage Technology to India
Inspired by nature, combining aesthetics and performance and equipped with Advanced Japanese Cooling and Storage Technology, the new AKAI Glass Finish Door refrigerators combine three-temperature cooling, anti-bacterial protection, smart storage and stabilizer-free operation
Japanese home appliances major AKAI has introduced a new range of 190-litre Direct Cool single-door refrigerators in India, combining a glass-finish exterior with a technology-focused set of cooling, storage, safety and maintenance features.
Available in Violet Leaf and Golden Flower finishes, the new refrigerators are designed for modern Indian kitchens while focusing on practical technologies aimed at improving food preservation, temperature management and everyday usability.
Three-temperature cooling for different needs
A key feature of the new range is AKAI's three-temperature cooling system, described as “One Fridge. Three Moods.”
The technology allows users to select from three temperature settings depending on their cooling requirements. This enables the refrigerator to be adjusted for applications ranging from keeping beverages ice-cold to maintaining gentler cooling conditions for fresh produce.
Deep Fresh Zone with anti-bacterial protection
The refrigerator incorporates a Deep Fresh Zone supported by temperature stabilization technology. It is paired with a removable anti-bacterial gasket, designed to help prevent contamination inside the refrigerator.
According to AKAI, the combination is intended to help maintain the freshness, hygiene and flavour of fruits and vegetables for longer periods.
Storage technology designed for Indian kitchens
AKAI has also focused on maximizing usable storage within the compact 190-litre format.
The refrigerator features a 12-litre Vegetable Box designed to accommodate weekly grocery requirements. A dedicated Large Aqua Space provides additional room for multiple heavy beverage bottles.
Inside, heavy-duty toughened glass shelves provide a durable and adjustable storage platform. Their adjustable design allows users to modify the internal layout according to the size and type of containers being stored.

Stabilizer-free operation and Clean Back design
For protection and ease of maintenance, the refrigerator features Stabilizer-Free Operation, allowing it to operate without an external stabilizer while handling voltage fluctuations.
The appliance also incorporates a Clean Back design, aimed at providing additional protection and safety while making the rear section easier to maintain.
Manual defrosting is provided through an easy-to-use mechanism, simplifying routine maintenance.
LED lighting and energy performance
An energy-efficient interior LED lighting system illuminates the refrigerator's storage area, making its contents easier to see.
AKAI says the refrigerator consumes 197.2 units of electricity annually, while maintaining its cooling performance.
The appliance is backed by a 10-year compressor warranty and a one-year comprehensive warranty.
Technology meets design
The new AKAI range combines functional refrigerator technologies with a glass-finish exterior. The Violet Leaf model features violet leaves against a black background with water-droplet detailing, while the Golden Flower variant combines a black finish with a golden floral pattern.
The reflective glass surface is also designed to be easy to clean.
The new 190-litre AKAI Direct Cool Glass Finish Door refrigerators are available at an introductory price of ₹18,190 through AKAI India's official website, select third-party online stores and authorized offline retailers.
