As e-commerce and warehousing expand, automation is seen as crucial to addressing labor shortages, meeting service level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring worker safety. The study also highlights that more than 90% of warehouse workers support the use of collaborative robots, ergonomic mobile devices, and AI-driven tools to streamline workflows and reduce physical strain.
Subramaniam Thiruppathi, Director of India sub-continent business, Zebra Technologies, emphasized the need for modernization, stating, “Automating material movement, data collection, and information management makes warehouses safer and more efficient while improving customer satisfaction and worker engagement.”
With India’s total warehousing stock surpassing 500 million square feet, the push for intelligent automation is becoming more urgent to support frontline workers and optimize logistics.
