AMD has officially announced the launch of its latest high-performance desktop processors, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D, set to hit shelves on March 12. The flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D will debut with an MSRP of $699, while the Ryzen 9 9900X3D will be priced at $599.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is powered by 16 “Zen 5” cores and features 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache technology, enhancing gaming and creative workloads with improved cache performance and thermal efficiency. With a boost clock of up to 5.7 GHz and a massive 144 MB cache, this chip is designed to compete at the highest level of desktop performance.

Ryzen 9 9950X3D Key Specifications

  • Cores/Threads: 16C/32T
  • Boost/Base Clock: Up to 5.7 GHz / 4.3 GHz
  • Cache: 144 MB (including L3 cache with 3D V-Cache)
  • TDP: 170W

AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, which debuted with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, has consistently proven to provide a major advantage in gaming workloads. Now, the second-generation implementation in the Ryzen 9 9950X3D aims to push performance even further, optimizing latency-sensitive applications and improving thermals for sustained peak performance.

With Intel’s 14th Gen Core processors already on the market, AMD’s latest launch will likely spark fierce competition, especially among gamers and content creators looking for top-tier performance. Preorders are expected to begin soon as the March 12 release date approaches.
