A new Warehousing Vision Study by Zebra Technologies highlights the growing demand for automation among warehouse workers in India and the APAC region to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
The study found that 79% of APAC warehouse workers, including those in India, are concerned about safety, while 88% believe a lack of technology investment will hinder business goals. Additionally, over 63% of warehouse leaders in the region plan to implement AI and AR technologies within five years to modernize operations and improve efficiency.

As e-commerce and warehousing expand, automation is seen as crucial to addressing labor shortages, meeting service level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring worker safety. The study also highlights that more than 90% of warehouse workers support the use of collaborative robots, ergonomic mobile devices, and AI-driven tools to streamline workflows and reduce physical strain.

With India’s total warehousing stock surpassing 500 million square feet, the push for intelligent automation is becoming more urgent to support frontline workers and optimize logistics.
