The partnership will facilitate collaborative research projects focused on smart energy systems, with a particular emphasis on AI and simulation

Experion Technologies have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), a public research institution in Bavaria, Germany, to strengthen collaborative efforts in research and development in the realm of Energy Systems, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Experion Technologies, established in 2006, is a global provider of Product Engineering and Digital Transformation Services, delivering future-ready and transformative digital solutions to businesses. Serving as a strategic partner to over 500 customers worldwide in 37 countries, the company specializes in sectors like Automotive, Healthcare, BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance), and Retail, harnessing the latest in Artificial Intelligence, IoT (Internet of Things), and Cloud Computing.

“We are thrilled to embark on this transformative and collaborative journey alongside Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), whose research experience in EV-related energy consumption data studies, together with Experion’s client mandates, can help deliver thought leadership in the EV charging solutions market.”

– Binu Jacob, MD & CEO at Experion Technologies

Founded in 1402, JMU is one of Germany’s oldest and most reputed universities, with a legacy of scientific excellence that includes 14 Nobel Laureates who have contributed to its history of research and academia.

The partnership will facilitate collaborative research projects focused on smart energy systems, with a particular emphasis on AI and simulation. By pooling resources and expertise, both entities aim to drive innovation in this critical domain by extending mutual access to specialized laboratories, research facilities, and computational resources to facilitate research.

Experion Technologies and JMU will establish avenues for reciprocal learning through exchange programs, enabling students immersed in research and theoretical work at JMU to collaborate with Experion project teams. This initiative will allow Experion staff to engage in academic research, gaining insights into the latest advancements in smart energy systems and AI, which is in line with the organization’s Culture of Learning. Simultaneously JMU students get the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge into research projects that involve real-world applications in Experion’s commercial environment.

Expressing enthusiasm about the collaborative prospects unleashed by the MoU, Binu Jacob, MD & CEO at Experion Technologies, said, “We are thrilled to embark on this transformative and collaborative journey alongside Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), whose research experience in EV-related energy consumption data studies, together with Experion’s client mandates, can help deliver thought leadership in the EV charging solutions market. We’re not just forging research partnerships, but also opening doors to a realm of unparalleled learning opportunities for both our employees and the bright minds at JMU.”

Emphasizing the potential of the partnership, Prof. Marco Pruckner, Chair of Modeling and Simulation, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at JMU, said, “This collaboration represents a convergence of academic rigor and industry pragmatism. Together with Experion Technologies, we plan to drive forward joint research and developing projects in the field of smart energy systems and vehicle grid integration.”

“It will be interesting to bring AI and energy systems together to obtain sustainable solutions for the future in cooperation between industry and academia. We are committed to fostering a dynamic ecosystem of innovation, where theoretical insights converge with practical applications to address real-world challenges in the field of energy systems”, said Prof. Dietmar Seipel from the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Systems.

Through the partnership, Experion Technologies and Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg look forward to redefine innovation in the realm of smart energy systems.
