Channel Leaders

Vishwanath Kulkarni, Director of Sales, India and SAARC, HID Global

We are looking at launching the next gen controllers for the SME market within India and also build strong capabilities for regional distributors and partners.

Core Strength as a leader

My core strengths as a leader include, external awareness, Vision – Managing Long term, short term and mid-term goals, partnering, focus on Technology and decisiveness

Distinctive Decision Making

The Indian government has a huge focus on Smart Cities and Digital India mission towards part of their major urban develop ment programs. We also see huge enterprise focus around IoT. At the same time, HID Global is also focusing on building the brand presence and bringing in new technologies especially in identity and access management, citizen identification and the Internet of Things (IoT). We are also focusing on increasing the partner base at the regional level. We already have a very broad based strategy in terms of channel expansion in Tier I cities. For Tier II and Tier III cities, we are taking a more focused channel approach by building their capabilities as per the current market demand and trend.

Channel Vision for 2016

As we do more with our smartphones and increasingly demand anywhere/anytime on-line access, there is the opportunity to better protect these activities while creating a more satisfying, mobile-centric security experience at home, in the office, on the road and online. Currently there is a wide gap between security planning and user compliance, advancements in the security experience will play a vital role in closing this gap. Hence, increasing awareness on Mobile access to meet the smart cities and digital India momentum will be one of the key plans we have for the channel market in 2016. We also intend to adopt some of HID’s latest offerings in the controller space. We are looking at launching the next gen controllers for the SME market within India and also build strong capabilities for regional distributors and partners.

HID Global also has two different types of partners. One is Global and the other is National distributors who HID services directly which accounts for 15 to 20 large companies. Then there is HID Connect partner which is about 5 or 6 of them for different applications.
