Veritas Appoints VMware’s Balaji Rao as India Sales Leader

Will be responsible for leading the sales team to drive revenue growth; develop go-to-market business strategy

Symantec’s planned spinout Veritas Technologies Corporation, is appointing Balaji Rao as the India Sales Leader to accelerate growth of its information management business in India.

In his role, Rao will be responsible for leading the sales team to drive revenue growth; develop go-to-market business strategy to capitalize on market opportunities; and spearhead initiatives to deliver next-generation information management solutions to customers and partners in India.

Rao is an industry veteran with close to 20 years’ experience working in blue chip technology companies and has held several leadership positions. He has a deep understanding of the Indian market with diverse experience across the domains of virtualization, cloud, security, enterprise management software and storage. Rao has also achieved an excellent track record of setting up successful sales teams and delivering significant business growth.

Prior to his appointment as the India Sales Leader for Veritas, he was the Senior Director – Sales, India & SAARC at VMware and was responsible for managing the business across key verticals with a geographically spread sales team. He has also worked with other leading technology companies including Hewlett Packard, EMC and IBM.

Rao holds a Bachelor’s degree in B.E (Electrical) from the Mangalore University, India.
