Tyco Securing the Gateways of the World

Leading airports around the world deploy Tyco’s security solutions to provide one fully integrated graphical user interface for all systems within the airports

Tyco Security Products are securing leading airports around the world, including over 80% of UK airports & some of India’s flagship terminals, to manage access throughout the airport, provide command and control for security personnel while providing one fully integrated graphical user interface for all systems within the airports.

The recent events of security breach at European airports have served to remind us that airports globally are faced with major security challenges. Authorities in India have always been critical about security concerns at our airports. As airports search for solutions, one tool that keeps coming to the forefront is the extensive deployment of access control & surveillance systems. As versatile protection systems, they continually monitor activity in and around the premises, ensuring access to secure areas is controlled so people are only allowed where they are supposed to be, and provides airports with cost-effective protection of assets, staff and passengers.

According to the release, CEM’s AC2000 airport edition system from Tyco Security Products is the only aviation-specific security management system available on the market and has a proven record as the most reliable and resilient security solution available today. Its fully integrated IP based access control and video solution unified with a robust security management software suite provides reliable and scalable security for airports.

It provides one powerful command and control frontend for alarm management of multiple airport security systems; including access control, video, intrusion, fire, perimeter detection and much more. The AC2000 server is built on a highly stable LINUX operating system that can be further enhanced with failover/redundant servers. The use of distributed intelligence at all levels of the system is also achieved using CEM intelligent card readers incorporating fingerprint biometric scanner and a large internal database for offline card validation; a critical requirement for 24X7 environment of airports with zero downtime. CEM allows for full bi-directional communication, making it possible to send and receive information from the access control system to other platforms, such as a physical security management system. CEM’s S3040 portable handheld card readers offer airports a quick way of providing temporary guard check points for random security spot checks around the airport buildings & gates or can be used for external areas inaccessible for cables.
