TP-LINK Unfurls Touch P5

Says the router incorporates Touch Screen technology with the power of extreme Wi-Fi

TP-LINK has released its Touch P5 Router, the first in a line of routers which support Touch Screen technology.
The Touch P5 represents another in the family of high bandwidth router solutions, after the successful launch of the Archer C9, this time sporting a Touch Screen control system that is simply captured in two words, powerfully elegant announced the press release.

Other than the Touch Screen itself, the Touch P5 supports a variety of functions that make it an extremely impressive router in its own right. With such features as Simultaneous Dual Band speeds of up to 600Mbps over 2.4 GHz and 1300Mbps over 5GHz, flexible wall mounting for freedom of placement, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports for high speed file and printer sharing, and 3 Dual Band antennas offering extreme levels of coverage and signal strength.

The 4.3 inch capacitive Touch Screen offers both a colorful and intuitive level of control, in addition to the browser administration which is typical to most routers, and represents an innovative step up in user interaction.

“The Touch Screen provides an advanced level of user interaction for wireless routers, allowing users to see what’s happening on their network directly,” said Andy Chen, Director of International Business.

The screen itself is surfaced with unbreakable toughened glass to ensure strength and durability, and is powered by its own independent STMicroelectronics Chipset, unlike other Touch Screen routers in this class. This innovation allows for a fast and responsive UI experience, without burdening to the router’s main CPU and core functionality.

The Touch P5, powered by a Broadcom chipset running at 1GHz and Simultaneous Dual band offering a combined speed of 1900Mbps, far greater speeds than those offered by other routers in this class.
