Sophos worked with Vectus Industries Limited, to overhaul its network security

Since 1989, Vectus group has been involved in the manufacturing of various plastic tanks, piping Systems, pipe fittings and various kinds of plastic moulded articles. Sophos helped the company to overhaul its network security while restoring its IT productivity, which was lost due to unregulated internet access and poor visibility into user activity and internet usage.

Challenges:

Vectus needed to move away from time-intensive and complex tools to secure its network and users while ensuring continuity for essential services and desired level of productivity in internet usage. Also absence of effective password policy was adding to increased risk to data and critical systems. Need for a monitoring tool emerged as an afterthought. Following the deployment of Sophos SG UTM 220 and 330 at DC sites and SG 115 at select branch offices, Vectus’ networking and IT teams could get up to speed in resolving network downtime and unproductive and risk-prone internet usage.

Benefits: With the Sophos SG UTM 220 (HA), the company successfully transformed and streamlined its network security while being able to keep a tab on what’s happening in its network environment. With a multisite deployment consisting of Sophos SG UTMs, Vectus could move to a secure, productive and smoothly running network environment, giving the IT team much needed respite with effective controls, automated security workflows and improved visibility into user systems at the company’s four locations including two DC sites and two branch offices.
