Sophos has announced the appointment of Shamshad Ahmed as director sales for its end-user security group (ESG) business for India & SAARC. With more than 20 years of experience behind him, Shamshad has lead a number of businesses across the telecom, IT, ITES and network security sectors, of which, he has spent 16 years in senior executive roles for global technology brands. Shamshad will be based in the Sophos office in Mumbai and will report into the vice president of sales for Sophos India & SAARC, Sunil Sharma.
Prior to Sophos, Shamshad was a part of Hewlett-Packard where he was regional sales director for their enterprise security products division. While at HP, Shamshad was responsible for overseeing security information and event management (SIEM), next-generation firewall (NGFW), Application Security and Hardware Key Encryption businesses. Prior to joining Hewlett-Packard, in 2009, Shamshad was regional sales director at Tipping Point Technologies (a Hewlett-Packard enterprise). He has also held leadership positions in organizations such as 3Com, Lumension Security, Nokia, Trend Micro and Modi Xerox.
