Supporting “Make in India” imitative of Government of india, SmartLink Rejuvenates its Manufacturing plant in Goa
Smartlink is committed to government’s call of ‘Make in India’ and has always encouraged local manufacturing in the Indian IT Sector. The company’s legacy of local manufacturing dates back to a time when local manufacturing looked unfeasible which gave Smartlink an impetus. Smartlink Network Systems Ltd. today launched the next generation DG-HR3400 wireless router at its manufacturing plant in Goa. Local manufacturing has always given the company a scope to design and manufacture products that are tailored to Indian operating conditions, which are different compared to other countries – be it how products get transported, how they are installed or under what power conditions they operate.
Smartlink has revamped its strategies which are now more customized to the ‘Make in India’ campaign which is reflected in the packaging of its products. Local manufacturing is a sure win-win formula as it would require designing and manufacturing for India by India. Indian companies should create our own brands and create a market for them internationally.
“Smartlink was set up with a vision to manufacture IT products in India for India. We at Smartlink welcome the initiative of ‘Make in India’ campaign by the government and we want to extend our support by all means that we can. All our products are crafted and designed to bring convenience along with the best technologies for India and abroad. Even the branding campaigns have been designed in conjunction with government’s initiative. My IT journey started 4 decades back with mainframe computer development in the IBM days and I then entered in manufacturing personal computers about 3 decades back by importing wave soldering machine and subsequently we introduced SMT line to use surface mount components with large scale manufacturing in Goa.” said K. R. Naik, Founder & Chairman, Smartlink Network Systems Ltd.
“Thanks to the government, the electronic manufacturing sector is now excited with ‘Make in India’ initiative. We at Smartlink are geared up to reinvent complete chain of electronic hardware manufacturing starting from design to disposal (D&D). This means we will design, manufacture and will provide entire after sales service along with ensuring environmental safety by proper disposal of e-waste. We foresee substantial reforms and actions by the government in the forthcoming budget which will provide an impetus to the domestic/ indigenous manufacturing. We are sure government would reduce disabilities and create an incentive structure for the industry. We believe that our capabilities could be expanded to cater to the emerging exports markets of Africa besides the huge domestic market”, said Mr. Nitin Kunkolienkar, Vice-President, Smartlink Network Systems Ltd.
