QNAP Partners with Seagate

Showcased Thunderbolt NAS, Qsirch, Virtualization Solutions, QTS 4.2, and More at Computex 2015

At Computex Taipei 2015, QNAP Systems, Inc. (at Stand J0118) demonstrated the world’s first Thunderbolt NAS, the unique search tool “Qsirch”, a hybrid approach to virtualization with Virtualization Station and Container Station, the new QTS 4.2 operating system, multi-zone multimedia system, and various new and popular feature-rich Turbo NAS models for home and businesses. QNAP also cooperated with HGST, Seagate, Toshiba and WD at Computex 2015 to showcase joint solutions of QNAP NAS with a wide range of HDDs and SSDs.

QNAP TVS-871T, the world’s first DAS/NAS/iSCSI SAN triple solution, features the incredible power of Thunderbolt 2 and enables simultaneous 4K video transfer and display. Featuring Thunderbolt and Ethernet dual network, the TVS-871T allows users to flexibly share files across multiple devices simultaneously.

With two Thunderbolt 2 ports available on the TVS-871T, users can flexibly arrange the connection of their computer workstations with the TVS-871T and its storage expansion enclosures based on their needs and benefit from high accessibility, optimal collaboration and seamless expansion. The TVS-871T is also a perfect match for Thunderbolt-equipped Mac users for 4K workflow, file storage and backup.

“Currently-available Thunderbolt storage solutions are direct attached storage, which lacks the flexibility for file sharing,” said David Tsao, product manager of QNAP, adding “the QNAP TVS-871T Thunderbolt NAS also features optional 10GbE network expansion, providing multiple options for high-speed storage and file sharing across multiple devices on a single device, and is ideal for Mac users and video editing professionals.”

QNAP’s latest Thunderbolt storage solution was demonstrated with Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD. The Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD is offering up to 6TB capacity, is designed to perform at high levels even under demanding workloads and in environments that call for global availability and 24×7 accessibility. The Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD is also supported by Seagate’s own Rescue Data Recovery plans, built into optional SKUs for the extra peace of mind.

“We’re pleased to collaborate with QNAP to provide business users and professionals with complete, reliable and scalable NAS solutions that meet their pressing needs. The Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD is tailored for small and medium sized-businesses who seek to optimize their computing for performance and reliability using NAS systems,” said Vic Huang, country manager of Taiwan, Seagate Technology. “With the high capacity Seagate Enterprise NAS HDDs, QNAP Thunderbolt NAS offers a high-performance, flexible and cost-effective NAS solution that is also ideal for 4K video support.”
