PVC to Invest Rs. 3 crore

Peesh Venture Capital (PVC) a global venture capital firm focused on funding and nurturing passionate entrepreneurs and disruptive technologies have announced four start-ups as the winners of the recent mCommerce Start-up & Venture Capital Bootcamp.

Out of the four start-ups, the final winner will stand a chance to win seed funding from PVC of upto INR 3 crore. The event was organised in- partnership with Unitus Seed Fund, GSF Accelerators, 10,000 start-ups (NASSCOM) and LetsVenture, on November 21st, 2015, and was hosted at PVC’s Gurgaon Accelerator.

One hundred (100) start-ups participated in the day-long event and were given an equal opportunity to meet and pitch their start-ups to India’s premier venture capitalists, angel investors and successful tech entrepreneurs including Mr. Peesh Chopra from PVC, Mr. Nipun Mehra from Sequoia Capital, Vikas Banga from Snapdeal, Pratyush Kukreja from Unitus Seed Fund, Rajat Harlaka from GSF, Rahul Khandelwal from Lumis Partners, Vikas Kuthiala from Indian Angel Network, Arpit Agarwal from Blume Ventures and Sachin Bhatia, CEO, Truly Madly and others.

Vikas Banga, VP of Engineering& Growth, Snapdeal, who delivered the keynote, tweeted, “Great discussion with the participants at mCommerce Bootcamp with PVC & Peesh Chopra.”

Out of 100 Start-ups at the Bootcamp, the four awarded start-ups were: MilkBasket- Hyperlocal daily grocery delivery; Pocket Shop- App for retailers to push retail content; Just Move- App for gamification of workplace fitness; Transtutors- Q&A bank for college and university students. In addition, Unomino, a hyperlocal medicine delivery app was named the best female-led mCommerce start-up.

“mCommerce is the next major wave of the Internet in India,” said Peesh Chopra, Managing Partner- Peesh Venture Capital. “I was impressed by the quality of mCommerce start-ups in India and we look forward to mentoring all the start-ups that attended and making investments into the ecosystem.”

Based on the success of the event PVC has agreed to host Start-up & Venture Capital Bootcamps on a quarterly basis. The next Bootcamp, EdTechStartup& Venture Capital Bootcamp will take place on February 6th2016.
