Power2SME, the first ‘Buying Club’ for SMEs in India, launched the second edition of ‘Spirit of Manufacturing Awards’ in association with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a global network of entrepreneurs, professionals and new companies established to foster entrepreneurship and nurture entrepreneurs.
This annual award series aims to empower the indigenous manufacturing industry and is in line with the recently launched ‘Make in India’ initiative announced by the Indian government announced the press release.
The season two of annual awards will focus on applauding and acknowledging innovation among home-grown manufacturing start-ups. The registrations and nominations will close by 20th September ’15 at http://spiritofmanufacturing.com/. The nominations are open for manufacturing start-ups with less than 10 years of existence. The winners will be announced during month of October at the award function, to be held at the side lines of TiECON 2015.
Talking about the launch, R Narayan, Founder and CEO, Power2SME, said, “Manufacturing sector has been a key focus area for the government, and with campaigns like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ manufacturing SMEs are receiving the much needed boost. We are glad that the Spirit of Manufacturing Awards is very much in cognizance with this initiative and the platform would not only look at recognizing the ‘Made in India’ stories, but would also aim to showcase the journey and hard work of the Indian SMEs.”
Sharing views on the awards, Geetika Dayal, Executive Director, TiE Delhi-NCR, said, “As the name suggests, the platform aims to celebrate the essence of the manufacturing sector that resonates with the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. With the second edition of the awards, we aim to reach out to more and more SMEs and invite them to be a part of the awards.”
The winner of the ‘Spirit of Manufacturing’ Award will be selected through a series of evaluation rounds, spread over a month and half based on the presentation and score in the assessment rounds. A jury of renowned experts and industry veterans will conduct the evaluation processes.
