NSDC Inks Pact with Captiveway India Solutions

Project targets to skill a million people over the next five years

In a major development to support the ‘Skill India Movement’ and ‘Digital India’, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Captiveway India Solutions Pvt. Ltd (CIS) for the creation of a portal which will house the entire nation’s NSDC affiliated Learning and Training Centers (LCs) with their offered skills training courses.

This will be one mega e-based project that NSDC will undertake to create a comprehensive and cohesive skill ecosystem for MNCs who are looking at trained manpower to support their business requirements announced the press release.

Iway Global B2B Portal (‘Iway portal’) is a sub-division of Captiveway India Solutions Pvt. Ltd (CIS), based in Pondicherry; with hubs in India (Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi), Singapore and France. The Iway portal is set to deliver this service for MNCs and MNEs by earliest, mid-August 2015.

This MoU was signed by Dilip Chenoy, MD and CEO, NSDC, with Vijaya Koumar, Founder and CEO, CIS.

Commenting on the occasion, Dilip Chenoy, MD & CEO, National Skill Development Corporation, said, “This partnership will certainly give a major push to the skill development landscape in India. It will benefit Indian companies involved in the skill training space in many ways. It will assist in increasing their business volume, make them a part of an active skill ecosystem and will also give them international exposure. This platform will see training organizations expand their infrastructure and open up more training centres.”

Captiveway’s CEO, Vijaya Koumar stated, “We are looking at around a million people getting skilled in the next five years from this project. We hope this partnership will offer new and innovative opportunities for our training partners to collaborate with international organizations towards best practices, curriculum and scale up the efforts of skills development in the country.”

Koumar added, “Our B2B Market Place will accelerate the sourcing process and selection of trusted training partners for training skilled workers in India.”
