NETGEAR Unveils Wireless Controller for SMBs

Says ProSAFE WC9500 Premium Wireless Controller is the perfect solution for medium to large-sized organizations with high bandwidth multimedia needs

NETGEAR has launched the ProSAFE WC9500 Premium Wireless Controller which it says supports the complete range of NETGEAR business-grade ProSAFE Managed Access Points.
It’s a scalable, centralized solution for dense environments, supporting up to 200 access points per controller in a stacked arrangement announced the press release.

The ProSAFE WC9500 Wireless Controller manages the complete NETGEAR line of eight (8) ProSAFE Managed Access Points, including single-band and dual-band further stated the release. It also added that the WC9500 is a scalable, secure mobile access solution that can support a growing organization with dozens of users, with up to several thousand concurrent clients across 600 access points in a stacked arrangement of three controllers. “It’s the perfect solution for medium to large-sized organizations with high bandwidth multimedia needs, such as growing businesses, K-12 schools, colleges, medical complexes, and hospitality sites with in-room access points,” stated the release.

With its Ufast protocol, the WC9500 delivers ultra-fast access point discovery, Layer 2 and Layer 3 fast roaming, a captive portal for guest access, a fully distributed architecture, and ease of configuration and dynamic RF management in dense environments. A pay-as-you grow licensing model of 10 access point licenses ensures that the organization only pays for what is needed.

Subhodeep Bhattacharya, Regional Director, India & SAARC, NETGEAR, said, “Businesses, hospitality sites and education facilities are looking for networking solutions that offer the ability to scale as the company grows, without taking a hit in performance. When they need to add more users or connect more access points or support a new branch office, network managers want solutions that can support denser deployments and possible future applications and devices. Keeping this in mind we have launched the WC9500 Wireless Controller. This Wireless Controller supports larger deployments in stackable scenarios.”
