NEC to Showcase Solutions for Secure Smart Cities at GovernmentWare

NEC Corporation and NEC Asia Pacific will be participating as a Gold Sponsor at the 24th GovernmentWare (GovWare) in Singapore, from 6-8 October 2015 at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Booth K08.

In line with the event theme of “Building a Secure Smart Nation”, NEC will demonstrate how its latest technologies can make Smart Cities safer for the generation of tomorrow, with a focus on cybersecurity technologies and advanced biometrics.

Risks such as targeted cyberattacks from professional hackers and even by nations continue to be on an up-trend and show no sign of stopping. To address this issue, NEC will introduce a new technology concept which comprises a suite of solutions that will seamlessly secure sensitive files and data over heterogeneous cloud domains using silicon-based biometrics, a state-of-the-art identity identification system, which is set to be a game-changer for organizations that place high priority on identity management and authentication.

Other highlights include NEC’s Cyber Security Factory, which aims to provide security surveillance of customer information systems, in-depth analysis of cyber incidents, and development of cyber security technologies to deal with evolving cyberattacks; and Cyber Range which provides a realistic training simulation environment to test security responses.

NEC’s face recognition technology – NeoFace Reveal – which helps law enforcement agencies to enhance poor quality latent face images and matching accuracy, will also be showcased at the event.

“NEC is pleased to participate in GovernmentWare 2015 and to show our strong support for the Singapore government’s push towards a Smart Nation. Each year, we are proud to showcase how NEC technologies can support government officials, agencies and enterprises safeguard citizens and their properties more effectively, in the real and cyber world,” said Tan Boon Chin, Managing Director, Global Safety Division, NEC Corporation.
