Matrix Cellular has recently appointed Atul Bhatia as its new Vice President – IT. Prior to this, Atul had been heading the IT division – Infra and Ops, Bharti Retail. In his new position, Atul will be responsible for leading the main verticals of IT – Application, Infrastructure, Security and Governance for the company. Along with that, IT Strategy and innovation will be the key focus areas for Atul. He will be responsible for driving the IT transformation and automation of various business processes along with leveraging mobile technology to reach out to new and existing customers.
Remarking Atul as an important asset to the company, Gaurav Khanna, CFO, Matrix Cellular (International) Services Ltd., said,”We are very excited to have Atul on board. Atul is a seasoned industry person and carries over 18 years of experience in IT which includes extensive work in Telecom, Retail and Manufacturing sectors. Prior to this appointment, Atul worked with Bharti Group for over 7 years as Head IT Infrastructure & Operations at Bharti Retail, Head IT at Bharti Airtel Corporate Office and Bharti Foundation. At Bharti Retail, in his recent most assignment, Atul, along with the CIO, led the migration of Bharti Retail IT Infrastructure from Walmart after Bharti-Walmart de-merger. It was his one of the biggest and widespread project which got completed within a span of six months, which was indeed a remarkable event. With his extensive experience and industry expertise, this appointment looks a promising proposition for Matrix Cellular to scale greater heights and carve a new success story.
