iXsystems Launches TrueNAS Hybrid SaaS for MSPs

iXsystems launches TrueNAS Hybrid SaaS for MSPs. Delivery of managed TrueNAS services across hybrid cloud deployments becomes possible with TrueCommand. With this launch, TrueNAS Open Storage portfolio registers another milestone in its expansion plan. With the addition of TrueCommand™ Cloud – a cloud based service that simplifies 24×365 TrueNAS management. This, in fact, is a major upgrade to the iXsystems Channel Partner Program. Under this, the cloud-based management software for TrueNAS deployments enables revenue generating services for partners who plan to move into managed storage service delivery. The solution decreases operational costs and enhances productivity via improved asset utilization, system optimization, real-time system monitoring, on-demand provisioning, and a lot more.

TrueNAS, this way, completely embraces the need for flexible Hybrid Cloud deployments across enterprises and organizations. TrueNAS can use all major Cloud storage services viz S3, Backblaze, Azure, etc. which thus can be deployed as cloud instances like AWS, Azure, VMware, and so on. It easily manages data to be backed up or synchronized between Cloud as well as on-premise TrueNAS systems like X, R, and M-series. On-premise TrueNAS systems are obviously highly cost-effective. This kind of setup helps in deploying TrueNAS CORE instances on AWS and managing those through the same TrueCommand Cloud service. In fact, TrueNAS SCALE instances will be available for scale-out deployments in early 2021. TrueCommand Cloud, thus, acts as the management platform for these Hybrid Cloud deployments.

TrueCommand Cloud extends its management software to a SaaS model along with an integrated VPN capability that can easily traverse the Internet. This solution is exclusively designed for MSP and channel enablement with management of many customer’s systems. Following are its key features:

  • Multi-system management from a single Web console
  • ZFS-aware monitoring, alerting and reporting
  • Cluster management and multi-tenancy
  • Fault management with team-based trouble ticketing
  • Role Based Access Control (RBAC) with Active Directory integration
  • Configuration auditing

TrueCommand Cloud manages TrueNAS CORE, Enterprise, and SCALE instances. It can be used by MSPs, Enterprises, smaller organizations, and other TrueNAS users, The software encompasses a major upgrade to the iXsystems Channel Partner Program. It also includes:

  • Deal registration, Partner activity management and resource portal
  • Specialized technical and sales training for partners
  • Reciprocal lead generation through the TrueNAS Open Storage Community
  • Product demonstrations and Sales Engineering support
  • Tiered pricing discounts and SPIFFs for registered deals
  • MSP enablement with TrueCommand Cloud management

“The lines between VARs and MSPs are blurring. TrueCommand Cloud is foundational in the support of channel partners to deliver the industry’s most powerful and value-added storage services on the market,” says Morgan Littlewood, SVP, Product Management and Business Development. “We invite both current and new partners to learn more about the iXsystems Channel Partner Program and TrueCommand Cloud service enablement platform.”

TrueCommand Cloud is readily available to customers, users, and partners. It can be activated through a self-service portal. Subscription can be started with as low amount as $10 per month that covers management of up to 50 drives. TrueCommand software can also be deployed as Docker instances or VMs and is available for free for less than 50 drives.
