Ingram Micro, the largest tech distribution company in the world, organized its flagship event Ingram Micro One in Singapore’s most coveted property, Marina Bay Sands from 5 – 8 August. Although this event was not new to other regions, but it was certainly new for APAC region.

For the first time 1700+ partners from different countries including China, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Hong Kong, alongside Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and India converged at the hotel and witnessed this unique residential event for three days.

The event was sponsored by more than 50 principals including big names like Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Del EMC, HPE, IBM, etc. As per the officials of Ingram Micro, there were 39 showcase booths, 30 roundtable discussions and 14 country-cluster meetings as well in three days. From India the event was attended by 250 partners representing various regions of the country.

Mike Zilis, Executive Vice President of Asia Pacific, Ingram Micro, in his keynote address, said: “We are in an era of massive technology evolution. We have this huge proliferation of cloud going on and now we have IoT, augmented reality, virtual reality and then this whole segment of autonomous vehicles. We are extremely happy and thrilled to discuss all this and more during the next three days of this inaugural – Ingram Micro ONE APAC,”

The key takeaway of the event was panel discussions and presentations around the high growth technologies including Cloud computing, Security, IoT, mobility, AI, BI, Managed Services, etc.

This event indicated the direction that Ingram Micro wants its partners and resellers to follow and that the company is very serious about new age technologies including managed services, cloud, AI, BI, IOT, etc.  Therefore, the partners need to change their strategy and adapt to the new direction in order to stay relevant in the market.

Diego Utge, Senior Vice President & India Chief Executive, Ingram Micro, said, “This event clearly helps the partners and resellers to see what Ingram Micro is capable of and how Ingram Micro is ready to support them in their journey of digital transformation with cloud. I would encourage each of our partners to reach out to us and let us know how we can support them. I am very happy with the event. In some countries it took us some years to reach this stage which we have done here in the first year. So, the possibility for next 2-3 years is high and we will polish the format much more going forward. There are 250+ partners from India. The partners are from various regions of India. Our strategy is we will try to replicate this event in India too.”
