Ingram Micro Gives Protection to Smartphones with Cover Plus

Cover Plus pack launched in two product categories – Gold and Platinum Pack covering 15+ variants start at an MRP of INR 499

Ingram Micro has launched a new value added pack –‘Cover Plus’ essential plans for smartphones and tablets starting at INR 499, depending upon device’s official retail price. The Cover Plus pack offer benefits up to 110% of the pack cost announced the press release.

The benefits include multimedia downloads from India’s leading content provider – Hungama; and a premium anti-virus protection suite from Trend Micro, besides insurance at no extra-cost. The unique comprehensive insurance package is backed by The Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd, and covers contingencies caused by accident, liquid, theft, burglary, fire and tempest.

Felix Wong, President, Ingram Micro, said, “Most of the mobile-insurance market is still unorganized with regional or city specific players. With Ingram Micro entering this arena, the industry will not only revitalize, but we are confident that that Ingram Micro Cover Plus will prove to be a win-win proposition for both users and smartphone manufacturers.”

Elaborating on Ingram Micro’s latest venture, Atul Gaur, Executive Managing Director, Mobility, Ingram Micro India Pvt. Ltd., said, “Ingram Micro has unleashed a new era in post-sales services with Cover Plus. By leveraging our vast presence in the Indian mobile distribution segment, we have created a unique platform by investing in a dedicated website, and a state-of-the art in-house toll free call center facility. For users, Ingram Micro will be a single-point of contact for paper less registration, claims processing and monitoring customer queries.”

The Cover Plus pack comes in two product categories – Gold Pack, and Platinum Pack.
