Hinduja hospital has deployed Matrix Video Surveillance Solution to strengthen its security apparatus and enhance its operational efficacy. The hospital, which had been using video surveillance systems from Axis, wanted to upgrade to the latest technology surveillance solution, without having to replace the existing cameras to protect their investments. The deployment of Matrix Video Surveillance Solutions has not only enabled them to upgrade to latest surveillance technology but has effectively enhanced their critical security apparatus inside the hospital premises.
The multi-specialty tertiary care hospital, which has an inpatient capacity of 342 beds, including 53 critical care beds in different specialties, needed to upgrade its security system without significant upheaval in terms of hardware deployed for security upkeep. An ISO 9002 certification from KEMA of Netherlands for Quality Management System has been in recognition of the upgraded services maintained by the hospital.
As stated earlier, Hinduja wanted to upgrade to the latest surveillance technology, without having to replace their existing cameras. To do that would have incurred loss of invested resources for the hospital. Again, the hospital used a dedicated server to centrally monitor multiple cameras from different devices. Their existing system offered considerable roadblocks as managing this server was not easy. Hence, these called for a surveillance solution, which could eliminate the need of this dedicated server.
Apart from these, they also wanted to store camera recordings of three months as evidential proof in case of an investigation and audit. Along with that, they wanted to minimize storage costs, since their existing system consumed high storage costs for this.
Matrix, with the help of its intensive R&D team, successfully added all of Hinduja’s existing Axis cameras to Matrix NVRs. The cascading feature of Matrix NVRs helped them to connect all NVRs in a master-slave architecture. The Matrix solution offered the benefit of centrally monitoring all of the hospital’s 73 cameras from different NVRs, without any server.
To address the storage requirements, Matrix provided features like Adaptive Recording and Camera-wise Recording Retention, which helped in reducing storage requirement considerably without compromising on video quality. This enabled the hospital to store camera recordings for three months without investing in additional storage drives.
