GoDaddy Ranked # 1 in .IN Domain Names

GoDaddy, the technology provider dedicated to small businesses, said it has been ranked number one in .IN domain name market share, according to the National Internet Exchange of India (NiXi).

.IN is India’s Country Code Top Level domain (ccTLD) on the Internet, and the leading domain name in India, enabling brands, companies and individuals to establish a distinct Indian identity online. The domain name is seeing significant uptake among individuals and businesses in India and worldwide, with over 1.7 million websites around the world ending in .IN.

“IN Registry congratulates GoDaddy for emerging as the number one registrar for .IN domain names with over 33% of the total market share. Unlike other domains, .IN is a unique symbol of India and has a crucial role in projecting the Indian presence in the cyber space. We are delighted that GoDaddy is helping individuals and businesses achieve a distinct Indian identity by making registrations of .IN domains fast, easy and affordable,” said Dr. Govind, CEO, NIXI.

“India is an important market for GoDaddy and we are proud to become the number one domain registrar of .IN domain names. We believe that by enabling greater adoption of .IN domain names, we can aid in further accelerating Internet adoption and make the Web relevant for millions of Indian consumers and business owners,” said Rajiv Sodhi, Vice President and Managing Director, GoDaddy India and Australia. “This milestone is a testament towards our dedicated efforts in enabling small businesses and individuals in building an impactful online identity.”
