The second stop of IEM Season 10 this year is at gamescom, hosted in Cologne
Gigabyte has been named as the exclusive motherboard sponsor of Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) by ESL, now reaching its 10th season.
The second stop of IEM Season 10 this year is at gamescom, the world’s largest gaming show, hosted in Cologne, Germany, on August 5th to August 9th, 2015. This will be the fifth time that an Intel Extreme Masters stop takes place at gamescom, albeit after a three year break from visiting the show. The event will also be the first Intel Extreme Masters event to see the return of Counter-Strike since its addition to the tenth season.
Eight teams from all over the world were invited to play in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gamescom Invitational, where the winner will take home a lion’s share of the US$90,000 prize pool. During the gamescom week, the ESL Studio in Cologne will play host to the second StarCraft II competition in the IEM series this season. The world’s best StarCraft II players will take to the stage to compete in a US$25,000 competition, of which the finals will play out at the IEM gamescom stage.
