Former Goibibo Co-Founder Deepak Tuli Joins MakeMyTrip

MakeMyTrip has appointed Deepak Tuli, former Co-Founder and COO at Goibibo. Deepak joins MakeMyTrip as Senior Vice-President-Growth rtup)Business. In his new role, Deepak will focus on building and implementing strategies for growing new business lines in the accommodations segment for the company.

Commenting on the appointment, Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and CEO-India, MakeMyTrip, said, “Accommodations space in the country is growing at a fast pace and is a key focus area at MakeMyTrip. We are confident that under Deepak’s leadership, we will further strengthen our presence in this space. We welcome Deepak into the MakeMyTrip family and wish him an exciting journey ahead.”

Speaking about his appointment, Deepak Tuli said, “The e-commerce industry is growing rapidly in the country and accommodations segment has emerged as a new area within the travel e-commerce ecosystem. My role at MakeMyTrip is exciting and challenging at the same time. I am happy to be a part of the MakeMyTrip family and look forward to having a great time ahead.”

Deepak joins from Goibibo and comes with over 10 years of experience in the e-commerce ecosystem, with expertise in diverse areas including mobile platforms, digital marketing, product management, P&L management and CRM among others. Prior to Goibibo, Deepak was a part of the launch team at Yatra, where he setup the non-air business for the company. He has done PGDBA in Airlines and Travel related Business Management from Sky Line Business School and has also completed Naspers Harvard Executive Management Program in General Management.

Deepak’s appointment is in line with the company’s efforts to further strengthen its leadership team. Saujanya Shrivastava joined in January 2015 as Chief Marketing Officer. He was previously the CMO at Bharti AXA Life Insurance. MakeMyTrip also appointed Anshuman Bapna Chief Products Officer in July 2015. He was the founder of MyGola.com, which was acquired by MakeMyTrip in April 2015.
