Dell Technologies Expand Their Data Protection

Dell Technologies made new additions to their data protection portfolio that affects the organization’s data capital. With the all new Power Protect Software Platform along with the PowerProtech X400 multi-dimensional appliance, Dell EMC is helping enterprise organizations prepare for the future along with transforming their data protection strategy.

According the Global Data Protection Index, India has witnessed an increase in the amount of data managed from 2.79 petabytes (PB) in 2016 to 6.43PB in 2018 in India. The study also revealed that 76% of respondents experienced some type of disruption in the past 12 months and around 30% said that they were unable to recover their data using their existing data protection solution. This creates a need to upgrade and introduce new data protection and management solutions by organizations in order to keep their data safe and protected.

The Dell EMC PowerProtect Software platform delivers data protection, replication and reuse, as well as SaaS-based management and self-service capabilities that give individual data owners the autonomy to control backup and recovery operations. VMware customers will benefit from a modern and simple data management solution for their vSphere environments with automated policy-based protection and integration with vRealize Automation.

Available as a hybrid or all-flash data management appliance, Dell EMC PowerProtectX400 has the flexibility to scale-up with grow-in-place capacity expansion and scale-out compute power and capacity. Also, the PowerProtect X400 is the first Dell EMC data management solution to utilize machine learning for intelligent load balancing toensure protected data is placed in the most efficient and cost-effective location possible.
