Channel Leaders

Chiradeep Rao, Channel’s Head India, Avaya

Our major plans for this year include; enhancing business coverage in the tier-2 cities across the country.

Core strength as a leader?

With my role as the Channel Head for Avaya India, I strongly believe in team work & collaboration. For me, collaboration can play as a driving force for the development of the company. At Avaya we function in a scenario where multiple stakeholders come together to perform and deliver to achieve company’s objectives. As a leader, I constantly aim to align myself to the needs of the organization and my team members where I keep inculcating the spirit within my immediate team. This belief has always supported me to channelize my strengths and deliver my best for the development of my organization and stay ahead of my competition.

Distinctive Decision Making

I believe that team work plays a very critical role in the growth of an organization especially from a channel organization’s perspective. Effective team work within an organization’s departments such as; sales, channel, pre-sales and product, results in a much higher productivity and lower transactional time loss. It also helps in winning more business while providing a unified view to partners and customers. Further, team work with channel partners results in better promotion of our products to our customers and helping us to secure a greater reach with higher margins and lower discounts. Hence, with an effective team work we are able to sell more value in the market place. Last but not the least, effective team work also results in better and lasting customer satisfaction as it acts like a force multiplier that enhances our ability to respond quickly to customer situations.

Channel Vision for 2016

Our major plans for this year include; enhancing business coverage in the tier-2 cities across the country. We are actively signing partnership deals in order to get a greater coverage for customers at both enterprise level and mid-market segment in top 8 cities in the country. With this, we also plan to grow our un-managed business or long tail business in India. We have signed a partnership deal with HCL Services (part of HCL group) to jointly take the Avaya’s products and solutions to the tier-2 and tier-3 cities with the help of HCL’s unmatched coverage on the ground especially in the mid-market segment. In addition to this, we are also working with some selected experienced System Integrators and Solution Providers to cater to requirements of the large state and central government projects including the Smart city initiative. This is a focused area and we have instituted a single window clearance for bids with these System Integrators and Solution Providers. This is to ensure we are fully prepared to cater to the incremental government spending that we foresee over the next 12 months.
