The union budget 2018 is unique in how it calls out digitisation as a powerful tool to propel the economy forward. From the government’s decision to double its allocation for digitisation with a total budget of INR 3073 crore, to the setting up of a skills centre for AI, Robotics, IoT etc. and the acknowledgement of the relevance of blockchain-the focus on technology is laudable.
This is a progressive budget which promises to bring in transparency, strengthen cyber security and curb corruption and fast track digitisation in the country. It also opens doors to newer professional areas and business growth opportunities.
