Brocade strengthens global distribution network

The partnership will see Hills distribute Brocade enterprise IP networking solutions to its resellers across the country, extending Brocade’s pre-existing coverage in the wireless, physical security, health and hospitality markets.

Brocade has announced that it has formed a distribution partnership with Hills, a value-added distributor of integrated technology and communication solutions in Australia.

Established in 1945, Hills is a value-added distributor of technology and communication solutions in the security, audio visual (AV) and communications sectors, as well as a technology services provider to the hospital and aged care industry across Australia. Hills has been a distributor for Ruckus Wireless, now part of Brocade, since it started business in Australia in 2010. The partnership with Brocade is a natural extension of that relationship.

“We are incredibly excited to add Brocade products to our offering,” said David Lenz, CEO, Hills. “The acquisition of Ruckus by Brocade this year has opened up new opportunities and completed the picture for Hills when looking at a complete wired and wireless solution for our customer base. Brocade has a solid range of enterprise IP networking solutions, which we can now include to enhance our existing solutions, whether a large CCTV network, professional AV system or integrated in-building solution for health or aged care.”

Hills now distributes Brocade enterprise IP networking solutions, with a particular focus on Brocade ICX fixed form-factor switches for campus networks. These switches deliver a complete, scalable, and high-performance networking solution that supports today’s proliferation of mobile devices, rich media and insatiable user expectations. The switches are designed to scale ports and services easily across a campus network, as user applications and devices grow.

“As we continue to build our distribution circle in Australia, the vertical focus and expertise of Hills is particularly attractive to our business, lending itself well to our campus networking solutions,” said Jason Baden, senior director for ANZ, Brocade. “This partnership will help us focus on the delivery and implementation of business-critical networks that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

Hills will also be combining both wireless and wired networking solutions for resellers and will promote the use of Brocade Network Subscription. This unique network-as-a-service model is designed to provide customers with full network agility, allowing for easy network expansion, upgrades and capacity changes. It has no origination fees, no fixed terms and no penalties for early termination, so customers pay for the network capacity they require. This gives them the opportunity to always be on the leading edge of technology so they can remain more competitive and relevant to their user communities.
