BICSI Signs MoU with TSSC

MoU to foster growth and advancement of the ICT industry through collaboration and information sharing

BICSI, the association advancing the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) in India, to foster the growth and advancement of the ICT industry through collaboration and information sharing on education and training, credentialing and certification events, marketing, and standards development.
According to TSSC, the Indian Telecom sector has emerged as one of the greatest economic success stories, registering a consistent overall growth rate of more than 35 percent over the past decade in terms of subscribers.

Highlighting the importance of this initiative, BICSI India District Chair Ketan Kothari said, “Since BICSI India’s inception in 2003, the steering committee members and volunteers have worked diligently towards the development of the ICT industry in the country. With an aim to position BICSI India as a credible stakeholder in developing the ICT skill set, we initiated talks with TSSC in India. Our association with TSSC will be an important step in the right direction that will serve the needs of the ICT industry in India.”

“Our MOU with TSSC will promote a natural synergy between both organizations and their members”, said BICSI President Michael Collins, RCCD, RTPM, CCDA, NCE. “BICSI is continuously expanding its reach in India and other global markets, and we are looking forward to working with TSSC to advance the industry and help shape the future of ICT around the world.”

“The TSSC is glad to partner with BICSI in establishing skilling centres and delivering programmes on structured cabling design and installation to meet the demands of the ever-growing ICT industry,” said Lt Gen (Dr) S P Kochhar AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd), CEO of the TSSC. “Through initiatives of the volunteers and members of BICSI India District, we intend to leverage the technical knowledge and expertise based on the global best practices, we believe that benefits of ICTEC is not only a factor of technology but also appropriately future-proofed design and installation.”
