BetterPlace Partners with HouseJoy

Digital background verification aggregator BetterPlace has tied-up with doorstep utility services provider HouseJoy to provide provide stringent identification checks, antecedent/address verification, and criminal/court record checks for the service providers.

In addition, BetterPlace will also help Housejoy obtain a police verification certificate for every service provider.

The pan-India partnership, which came into effect in Q2 of 2015, is meant to provide exhaustive antecedent verification of service providers and their employees leveraging HouseJoy’s platform. Moreover, the company aims to continuously monitor verified individuals with frequent address and criminal checks to ensure the highest level of safety.

Speaking on the partnership, Pravin Agarwala, Co-founder & CEO, BetterPlace, said, “Doorstep delivery of essential home services such as beauty solutions, plumbing, and electricity requires the individuals to often spend 1-2 hours inside homes. As such, safety becomes a prime concern for both the consumers and the service provider. This is where BetterPlace’s disruptive technology geared towards improving the security landscape of India comes in.”

Speaking on the partnership, Sunil Goel, Co-Founder, Housejoy.com, said, “We have partnered with BetterPlace to do a thorough background verification as they help us with Identity, Address and Police verification for all our service providers. Betterplace has a platform that helps us to do all the above in a seamless manner and a faster pace.”

Initially implemented in Bangalore as a proof-of-concept for three months, BetterPlace’s verification services are currently in force for HouseJoy all its 10+ cities of operation. The organization is planning to extend its safety services to incorporate 15 cities by the end of the year.
