Barracuda Load Balancer FDC Delivers 40 Gbps Throughput

Leverages the Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) and Intel architecture to consolidate workloads, boost performance.

Barracuda launches Barracuda Load Balancer FDC model T740. Built on Intel architecture and featuring improved packet processing performance by up to ten times, Barracuda Load Balancer FDC delivers high 40 Gbps throughput at an industry disruptive price. Designed for virtualized data centers, Barracuda Load Balancer FDC provides scalability and high availability for websites and cloud services. It monitors the health of servers and evenly distributes server loads – all while maintaining session persistence and a seamless user experience in the event that one or more servers become overburdened or unresponsive.

“Users and applications are becoming increasingly dispersed and creating new traffic patterns that are forcing organizations to reexamine their application delivery approach. The next-generation data center needs fast and effective load balancing of server traffic at the physical layer, where it can be handled more efficiently before it enters the application virtualization layer,” said Stephen Pao, GM Security, Barracuda. “The Barracuda Load Balancer FDC addresses these needs with high throughput load balancing, leveraging standard Intel® Architecture Processors, to provide customers with a combination of high performance and cost efficiency that is disruptive in the industry.”
