Barco Boosts wePresent portfolio with New Offering

The launch underlines Barco’s technological prowess and domain leadership

Barco has launched the latest addition to its wePresent portfolio: the WiCS-2100. The device leverages Barco’s proprietary wireless, cross-platform presentation gateway technology and is the first wePresent device with eco-standby capabilities.

The launch further underlines Barco’s technological prowess and domain leadership, especially when it comes to enabling seamless collaboration through its cutting-edge networking and presentation technology.

Speaking on the launch, Ramya Chatterjee, Director-Sales of Barco Electronic Systems Pvt. Ltd. said, “We live in the digital age, where seamless interconnectivity is critical for achieving meaningful and desired results. The wePresent WiCS-2100 is the perfect tool to help organizations with that objective.”

He added, “We’ve extensively worked on integrating advanced capabilities to further evolve this offering, and are confident that the WiCS-2100 will build on the success of its predecessors to gain even greater adoption within the wireless collaboration market.”

The wePresent WiCS-2100 is available in the form of a base unit which is connected to the output screen and enables users to broadcast audio-visual media content on network-connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and laptops for wide-ranging use cases, using wePresent MirrorOp software client.

Additionally, wePresent WiCS-2100 provides seamless support for two popular mirroring solutions, namely Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast, to extend HD broadcast streaming at up to 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second. The WiCS-2100 also allows its users to effortlessly collaborate by leveraging various onboard interaction and collaboration tools, such as screen annotations and interactive whiteboards.

High on functionality, the powerful device can source feeds from up to 4 devices using its user-friendly dynamic screen layout. It adapts to multiple users presenting simultaneously by automatically configuring the content for optimal display across all connected devices. The WiCS-2100 comes with HDMI, USB, Wi-Fi, and LAN-based connectivity and can be used by up to 32 and 64 users via Wi-Fi and LAN respectively, with strong network availability within a 30-meter range. The power-packed device also has a wireless transmission protocol for high-speed data transfer, which can be switched between 2.4 G (b/g/n) and 5G (a/n/ac).

The WiCS-2100 features enhanced moderator control along with an additional layer of security, including gatekeeper setting, 4-digit access code, and enterprise-level encryption. Its USB Guest Access allows guest presenters to connect and present in a matter of seconds, while a simple executable file can also be downloaded to directly connect with the presentation network without needing to install a software suite. The WiCS-2100 can additionally be used to obtain on-screen previews for up to 32 connected devices and can lock down presentations from any device to enable better moderation.

The all-new WiCS-2100 comes with enhanced energy efficiency and can be optimally powered using an ethernet cable (besides an external power adaptor). The device, which can be used to connect 32 devices simultaneously, further conserves power through its eco-standby mode. The WiCS-2100 automatically switches to power-saving mode when it is idle, using discreet power to maintain essential functions without compromising on its performance or reliability.
