ASUS Motherboard and Graphics Card combined forces

Flagship ROG Rampage V Extreme gaming motherboard and elite Strix GTX 980 Ti graphics card demonstrate superiority by setting new global performance highs

ASUS reveals its flagship Republic of Gamers (ROG) Rampage V Extreme gaming motherboard and elite Strix GTX 980 Ti graphics card have combined forces to set a new world record and achieve 16 global first place positions.

World-class German overclockers Daniel Schier (‘Dancop’) and Roman Hartung (‘der8auer’) paired Rampage V Extreme and Strix GTX 980 Ti in a build with an octa-core Intel Core i7 5960X processor, Ripjaws 4 DDR4 memory and a PS1250P power-supply unit (PSU) from G.Skill.

Dancop and der8auer pitted their ASUS-equipped powerhouse against a suite of hardcore benchmarking tools, including HWBOT Prime, wPrime 32M, Cinebench R11.5, Cinebench R15, GPUPI for CPU and Geekbench 3, setting seven new global first places for 2D performance.

The crack overclocking squad also tested their mettle against the world’s toughest 3D benchmarks, including Catzilla 720P, 3DMark Vantage Performance, 3DMark 11 Performance, 3DMark Fire Strike and 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme, claiming one world record and nine global first places.

ROG’s Rampage V Extreme is an Intel X99 chipset-based motherboard engineered for the latest LGA 2011-v3-socket Intel Core™ i7 processors and DDR4 memory. It features exclusive overclocking technologies like the patent-pending OC Socket, OC Panel, Safe Boot and ReTry buttons.

Strix GTX 980Ti is the latest enthusiast-gaming graphics card, with ASUS-exclusive DirectCU III technology and a triple-wing-blade 0dB fan design to deliver maximum airflow for 30%-cooler and three times (3X) quieter performance
