In view of the alarming increase in number of cases of COVID19, on evening of Sunday, 4th April 2021, Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Uddhav Thackarey announced lockdown in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
Given the difficulties experienced in the earlier lockdown, with its adverse effect on the business communities, ASIRT immediately swung in action on Monday, 5th April to get connected with the concerned authorities in the state government. ASIRT, through its President Mr. Tushar Shah & Chairman Mr. Tushar Parekh, connected with the CM’s office with a request to include IT Goods & Services as “Essential Services”. More so since IT had proved to be the backbone to all the operations be it Government, Healthcare, Education, NGO, Industry, Professionals and “Work from Home” individuals.
ASIRT’s Board and Chairman, Mr. Tushar Parekh too, pursued the cause further. ASIRT sent its official communication to the CM’s office. Mr. Tushar Parekh then took the lead in influencing other IT associations to forward their respective representations to the State Government as this is a common cause of concern to all businesses especially IT.
Honourable CM and Government officials did understand the intent and the sense of purpose and thus included the “IT Goods & Services” as part of “Essential Services” in the additional notification of the revised guidelines released subsequently.
ASIRT has been on forefront to fight for the cause of Systems Integrators and IT industry as a whole. This was amply demonstrated by the proactive actions of its Leadership once more.
