QNAP Releases TS-x31 Home NAS Series for Personal Cloud

Is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 CPU

QNAP has released the TS-x31 series Turbo NAS for SOHO and Home users. Powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, it provides a high-performance yet economical solution for file storage, sharing, and data backup coupled with the easy-to-use cloud-based note-taking application and a wide range of multimedia functions.

Available in 1, 2, and 4-bay models, the TS-x31 series is an easy-to-use network storage center for backup, synchronization, remote access, and home entertainment. “Due to the privacy concerns of pubic cloud services, the TS-x31 is ideal for establishing a secure and large-capacity private cloud where users can store, share, and access their files anytime, anywhere,” said Jason Hsu, product manager of QNAP.

With the Notes Station, the TS-x31 series allows users to create digital notes on their private cloud and share with friends and colleagues without paying monthly fees and knowing that sensitive information is fully under their control and not stored on a third party’s server. Users can edit their notes with the intuitive web-based editor, take screenshots with a Google Chrome extension or desktop Qsnap application, and create to-do lists & calendar alerts that can be synchronized to Google Calendar to efficiently manage their daily tasks. Users can also enrich their notes with media files stored on the TS-x31, and enjoy convenient access to their notes by using the Qnotes mobile app.

The TS-x31 series comes with Freescale ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 512MB DDR3 RAM, delivering up to 110MB/s read & 80MB/s write speeds. Equipped with dual LAN ports, the TS-231 and TS-431 support dual IP settings, port-trunking modes and enables users to set up fault tolerance or link aggregation for increased data throughput.
