Seagate ropes in Robert yang as VP of sales for APac region

Seagate Technology plc  has named Robert (Bob) Yang as its regional vice president for Asia-Pacific sales, where he will lead the team responsible for the company’s sales, marketing and technical support activities in the region. He will report to BS Teh, Seagate’s senior vice president of global sales.

“We are pleased to have Bob join Seagate,” said BS Teh, senior vice president of global sales, Seagate Technology. “His extensive experience across different sectors of the storage industry will bring great value to our teams and his expertise will enable us to better address our customers’ needs in the region. We are confident that Bob will bring Seagate’s business in Asia to greater heights.”

Yang started his career with Seagate back in 1997, and over an eight year tenure rose to become the senior director and general manager for Asia Pacific channel sales and marketing. Under his leadership, Yang and his team built up a robust channel network across the region to bring Seagate’s products and services to customers in Asia.

Yang’s extensive experience includes overseeing sales in Asia and Japan for LogRhythm and heading up APAC sales channels at Hitachi Data Systems. He also served as president of storage services with Teleplan Consulting, a leading after-market service provider for major technology brands and was vice president of sales, at Acronis Asia, where he was responsible for driving key business and revenue growth across Asia Pacific for various blue chip technology firms.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.

Yang will be based at Seagate’s International Headquarters (IHQ) in Singapore.
