Dell EMC helps Digitizing Content for enormously Growing Audiences

Around four years ago Saregama began the process of digitizing its huge archive of content recorded in India. This includes not only audio files but also the related meta data, including artwork, artists, producers, and musicians, all of which has to be captured along with the audio content. Previously this meant storing and then accessing content distributed across vast silos of servers and desktops. The company wanted to keep its data highly available as well as secure through access from a single volume, to which the various teams involved in production and distribution would have access. Saregama also needed to insure itself against the costly delays associated with data loss.

Challenges:

Digitizing media content

  • Siloed data stores
  • Preventing data loss
  • Content distribution efficiency

Benefits:

Provides scalable platform for strong data growth

  • Delivers single volume for efficient data cataloging and distribution
  • Ensures data protection and compliance
  • Supports continue innovation

Testimony:

“Our goal is to gain value out of every dollar that we invest, and the scale-out functionality of Dell EMC Isilon allows us to grow at our own rate”, said Yazad Anklesaria, Deputy Manager of Technology and IT at Saregama
