Epson takes top position in Indian projector market

Epson’s leadership in the market is driven by the fact that its 3LCD projectors deliver up to three times higher colour brightness than leading competitive projectors

As per FutureSource Consulting, Epson sold 35,079 units during H1 FY2016 and garnered a market share of 26.9%. Epson’s market share for FY 2015 was 21.8%, thereby indicating a sharp increase in market share in H1 FY2016. Epson’s growth has been driven by robust sales in the education, business and home segments. The Indian Projector market is highly fragmented with more than 20 brands currently vying for a piece of the pie.

Coupled with high quality performance, innovative features and technology advancements, Epson’s most recent projectors elevate the user experience with collaboration tools on their interactive projectors, and with 3LCD Reflective laser technology and 4K enhancement for their state-of-the-art home theatres.

Epson says their success spans segments. For the enterprise segment, improved ease of use, portability and efficiency in Epson projectors for business meetings has made a difference. Projectors with high functionality, thin and lightweight form factor, and with automatic screen adjustment features, all at attractive price points, have made Epson the preferred choice with corporates. For the education segment, Epson provides value for educators with products that make it easy-to-understand and easy-to-teach thereby making students more interested in learning. Epson does this by encouraging the adoption of proprietary Epson functionality such as short throw and interactive projectors. For the home segment, Epson has leveraged the high contrast and superb image quality of their home theatre projectors to offer enhanced movie and sports viewing capability to enthusiasts.

Speaking on the occasion, Samba Moorthy, Vice President -Sales & Marketing, Epson India said, “We are extremely delighted to be the No.1 projector brand in India. Our strength lies in our revolutionary 3LCD technology and we take pride in delivering projectors that are technologically advanced and innovative. Thanks to our proprietary 3LCD technology, our projectors offer superior Colour Brightness and with a fantastic range of projectors for corporates, educational institutions and for home, we expect to continue to drive rapid growth in this market in the years to come.”
