GIGABYTE expands motherboard portfolio with X99-Designare EX

There are no limits to the creativity of a skilful content creator who works on high-end multimedia PCs that have the right combination of software and hardware. Though software is always on the forefront in this field, the significance of high performance PCs with feature-rich components can’t be undermined, in the quest of achieving the best possible content output.

GIGABYTE Technology (India) has launched in India a motherboard that is proven to raise the bar for creative digital content.

Introducing GIGABYTE’s X99-Designare EX, which is a part of the GIGABYTE Designare motherboard series. It offers a blend of the latest technologies to ensure the best of creativity.

Glitzy Looks that Inspire

To start with, X99-Designare EX, a full ATX motherboard, is surely a feast for your eyes with its matte black PCB, heatsinks with white and blue shades, and black expansion slots. To go together with the colourful heatsinks, there is a fitted covering over the I/O connections and several parts between the PCI Express slots. To top this, GIGABYTE has added vastly configurable LEDs, with features to support for LED strips too.

X99-Designare EX, a high-end motherboard with the Intel X99 chipset, features an LGA2011-v3 socket, eight DDR4 memory slots for DDR4-3400 memory (up to 128 GB), a 9-phase VRM system, and a significant number of expansion slots. These slots comprise one PCI-E 2.0 x1 slot and five PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots, wherein three run at x16 speed, one runs at x8 speeds, and the last at x4 speeds.

Though the X99-Designare EX board supports 3-Way SLI, it does this with 16x lanes of PCI Express for each slot even when a 28 Lane CPU is used. To ensure this, GIGABYTE has included a PLX PCI Express switch.

Distinctive Technologies that Empower

For all you designers and artistes, GA-X99-Designare EX tops its features with the NVIDIA QUADRO 3D Workstation Professional Graphics Solutions that is exclusively designed for content creators. This helps you get the best out of a number of applications, namely Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid Media Composer, Autodesk Suites, Dassault Systemes, CATIA and SOLIDWORKS, Siemens NX, and PTC Creo.GIGABYTE motherboards offer the best features for a seamless virtual reality experience, thanks to technologies, such as Thunderbolt 3 to transfer data and video, NVMe support via M.2 or U.2, and a one-piece metal shielding to brace for heavier discrete graphics cards. What’s more, GIGABYTE Motherboards include Ambient Surround LED to set the mood.

GA-X99-Designare EX comes with the GIGABYTE-patented double locking bracket for its expansion slots which are reinforced with a one-piece stainless steel “PCIe Armor” shield. This feature ensures enhanced shearing force resistance and more than three times the retention force of regular slots. GIGABYTE’s proprietary Ultra Durable PCIe Metal Shielding strengthens the PCIe connector to avoid slot damage owing to heavy graphics cards. The DIMM and PCIe metal shield also ensure additional strength to the slots.

You get up to 36 watts through the Intel powered USB Type-C port employed by GIGABYTE’s newX99 motherboards. Intel’s USB 3.1 controller supports USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, and Power Delivery 2.0 – which also allows you to power larger devices, such as monitors or laptops, through the Type-C Port.

One of the most attractive features of the motherboard is the PEX8747 chip, which ensures the same PCI-E layout for both 28 and 40 lane CPUs. The 40-lane CPU on the motherboard, ensures an additional U.2 port linked directly to the CPU and 8x extra bandwidth to the PEX8747.

X99-Designare EX has been equipped with Intel’s Alpine Ridge controller, that is configured with the CPU’s 4x of PCI-E 3.0, a Thunderbolt 3 BIOS settings, a TB3 Display Port input, and the suitable Texas Instruments TB3 chip.
To help the user completely capitalise on the motherboard’s features without installing any extra software, GIGABYTE has put its revamped UEFI onto it, facilitating stronger control of the fan and RGB lighting. This gives you the option of enabling or disabling adaptive voltage mode if you are inclined towards overclocking.

GIGABYTE has included the best quality, performance-centric VRM components in X99-Designare EX. You can get superlative performance, thanks to the 8-phase digital PWM controller that ensures great control profiles for the VRM.

To sum it up, whether it is ensuring top-notch performance, leveraging the latest technologies, or getting inspired by one of the jazziest looking PC components in the market today, X99-Designare EX has everything in it to be a coveted product for today’s digital content creator.
