Channel Leaders

Sharad Gupta, Channel Director, India, Veritas

We are planning to have wide variety of courses and certifications for our channel partners that will help us build the skill base to support our growth and expansion plans.

Core Strength as a leader

I am a learner and this approach arms me with new techniques and inputs that I can use to help others with. Putting myself in another person’s shoes enables me to better understand their perspective and this often helps me to find creative solutions to adapt to different situations. Instinctively people know that I care about them. They are encouraged to experiment new things, reach for their goals, and learn to fall and fail, and then try again. I will do my best to advise and help them find a way to move forward, and more importantly, to improve. I try to infuse positive energy and appreciation to those who are motivated to try hard and achieve their goals. Influencing and stimulating ideas for continuous growth are my key attributes.

Distinctive Decision Making

With strong experience in the IT industry, I am well acquainted with the pulse of channel ecosystem. Since joining Veritas two months ago, I have strategized and executed the channel engagement plan, by focusing on leading solution providers, nurturing the existing partner base and handpicking the key future potential partners, who can leverage our solutions and offerings.

As a newly independent information management company, we have recently launched our new global partner program – Veritas Partner Force – that is focused on delivering a strong value proposition to our partners and customers to drive greater productivity and profitability. At Veritas, we have a very robust product platform that addresses the data complexities and challenges that organisations face today by offering them data availability and insights to enable them to better harness the power of their information. In fact, many of the top banks and telcos are running on Veritas solutions today. Going forward, we are fully committed to growing our presence in India as the information management leader.

Channel Vision for 2016

Our refreshed partner program was based on extensive partner feedback and is designed to further reward information management partners focused on growing their business with Veritas. We are confident that a strong partner ecosystem will serve to support the growth of our business and we will continue to invest in the right mix of partners – to enable them to be even more successful by having a strong product portfolio, training and focus on key verticals including BFSI, Telecoms, Healthcare and Government. It is imperative for us to enable Veritas partners to effectively leverage our offerings in all relevant channels, complemented by a clear strategy for distribution models for global opportunities.

In India, Veritas is getting good traction with the right set of partners and skill sets and India has been a very critical area for investments. We are planning to have wide variety of courses and certifications for our channel partners that will help us build the skill base to support our growth and expansion plans.
