Lenovo Showcases New Converged HX Series Appliances

Unveils new line of its converged appliances the HX3500, HX5500, and HX7500 at Gartner Data Center Conference, driving synergies within the Indian enterprise market

Lenovo has unveiled the new Lenovo Converged HX Series appliances featuring Nutanix Acropolis and Prism software, at the Gartner Data Center Conference in Mumbai. With this launch, Lenovo aims to simplify deployment and accelerate business value for the robust Indian market.

Today’s typical data center has multiple generations of servers, operating systems, storage and hypervisors. A recurring issue that is faced, not just by Indian IT managers but also global counters, is the ability to juggle complex tasks while maintaining legacy hardware and software. This calls for the implementation of next-generation hyperconverged appliances, which can substantially reduce this complexity, resulting in significant added value over a short time. Lenovo’s collaboration with Nutanix addresses this issue at its core, aimed at reduction of the total cost of ownership of IT infrastructure by up to 60%, as validated by IDC. Lenovo Converged HX Series appliances are expected to deliver similar cost savings and business value by marrying world-class Lenovo servers with Nutanix web-scale software.

As per the press release, these new appliances are designed to simplify infrastructure, reduce deployment and management costs and improve server platform dependability. Built on the number one in x86 server reliability platforms and leveraging Nutanix’s leadership position according to the Gartner Magic Quadrant, the co-engineered Lenovo appliances will help customers focus on greater efficiency, agility and scalability while delivering a higher return on investment. Hyperconverged solutions powered by Nutanix software reduce the total cost of ownership of IT infrastructure by up to 60%, as validated by IDC.

Dheeraj Pandey, CEO, Nutanix said, “Nutanix and Lenovo share a commitment to deliver solutions that enable IT organizations to focus on the applications and services that power their businesses. With its strong heritage of innovation and quality, Lenovo provides world-class technology that brings web-scale architectures and benefits to all size data centres.”

Rahul Agarwal, MD, Lenovo India commented, “We are really excited about bringing the Converged HX Series appliances to India and launching it at such a prestigious platform. With this new range of servers, we aim to cater to disruptive market trends in IT consumption and data center design; while also offering the biggest benefit of driving down operating time and expense. Our partnership with Nutanix has made this objective possible for us. We are focused on driving synergies through such collaborations and strengthening our position in the enterprise space.”

Tailored to Application Infrastructure, three models will now be available in India and can be customized to specific needs, HX3500, HX5500, and HX7500. To help customers architect, size and deploy the next-generation infrastructure, Lenovo and Nutanix are investing in dedicated sales and support expertise, said the release.
