Adds eight new Indigo and PageWide web presses, to expands its GCP fleet with breakthrough enhancements
Reinventing the commercial printing space, HP has introduced five new Indigo digital presses, three new PageWide Web Presses, and innovative cross-platform enhancements in quality, productivity, versatility and color. The announcement is expected to broaden PSPs’ possibilities for high-value commercial applications to help drive business growth.
According to the press release, representing the most significant HP Indigo Liquid Electro photography (LEP) technology breakthroughs in 20 years, the new HP Indigo portfolio includes three sheet-fed presses, the Indigo 12000, 7900 and 5900 Digital Presses, the oversize B1-format duplex Indigo 50000 Digital Press, the Indigo WS6800p Digital Press for photo specialty applications as well as an improved Indigo 20000 Digital Press, now equipped for commercial applications. HP Indigo customers will be able to further enhance productivity with more than 260 solutions from more than 80 workflow and finishing partners, offering end-to-end solutions tailored for a wide range of unique applications.
Expanding the High Definition Nozzle Architecture technology-powered HP PageWide Web Press portfolio, the new PageWide Web Presses T490 HD, T490M HD and T240 HD will provide customers increased print quality and higher productivity than previously possible. HP hopes this will lead PSPs to transfer more high-value commercial print applications from offset to inkjet.

As per the release, HP will demonstrate the new solutions from May 31 to June 10 in Hall 17 at the drupa 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany. HP will also be showcasing these solutions at Dscoop, Tel Aviv and Dscoop, San Antonio in April.
According to HP, the new Indigo portfolio will be available from second half of 2016 and new Indigo features are expected to be available as optional field upgrades. The new HDLA technology for the Indigo 12000 Digital Press is expected to be available in 2017 whereas the new PageWide Web Presses will be commercially available in 2016 itself. Current HP customers using duplex color PageWide Web Press will be able to upgrade to the new technology. All of the new Indigo digital presses and PageWide Web Presses offer HP’s PrintOS connectivity to improve print production management. PrintOS is expected to be available for customers on May 31, 2016.
