“Will do more investment in 2016”

Sanjay Joshi recently took over as the Country Manager of Edimax Technology. SME Channels caught up with him to know more about his plans for the company.

As the newly appointed country manager what is going to be your growth strategy for Edimax in the country?

My strategy is to penetrate Edimax PAN India, covering untapped channels, regions and creating new verticals of business; SoHo/consumer range of products will be focused through online & IT retail channel wherein solution vertical will be catered through VAR & SI partners.

By 2016, our strategy is to focus more on EDIMAX PRO and start generating revenue by following value based solution business model. We will be introducing niche product line into India market which will include smart life, IOT and BYOD Solution requirements. Strategically, 11AC Enterprise & SoHo product portfolio will be the main growth trajectory for us in the coming years.

Telcos and refresh business have been contributing to vendors’ business, for you which key factors contributed to the growth of the networking market for you?

At this stage, we are not targeting telco business in India except few sub-continent project tie-ups discussion that is going on with major Telcos. For India, more focus will go towards enterprise and smart life business; setting up education and hospitality business line will be the main priority.

Which verticals are driving the demand for you?

IT Retail channel, online e-commerce and enterprise solution business are the key verticals; we have started working closely with system integrators with focus on education and hospitality as a key business contributor.

How important a role are SMBs playing in the growth of the networking market?

SMB/SMEs and enterprise is playing a huge role for the growth of networking market. I can see big opportunities coming as customers are getting educated and demanding solutions catering to their requirement with performance, reliability, warranty and post sales.

What are your plans for this year to increase your market share?

We are in process of adding ‘value added distribution channel’ for Edimax Pro, and dedicated strong partners networks to grow in the existing IT retail channel and online business. We will be focusing majorly on Edimax Pro and to add growth momentum will go for IT Retail and online ecommerce business. I see a huge vacuum and potential to grow business with the newly announced Edimax Pro portfolio across the verticals.

Existing manpower restructuring plan is already in place and will take effect before end Q4’2015. Starting Jan 2016, will do more investment adding new headcounts, participating exhibitions and partner activity, training, seminars and certification program, will result into overall business growth of the company.

Recently, we have added new toll free with door step RMA services offering for SoHo/consumer product portfolio which will create confidence among IT retail partner and end-customers.
