Gaming to Boost Laptop Sales in India

Indian PC gaming ecosystem has set the industry in fire with an estimated revenue of ₹11,900 crore by 2023. This is obviously going boost the computer and tablets sales in the country amid Covid-19. In addition to this there is a possibility of giving fillip to the fledgling online casinos industry, which indirectly boost the employment.

The market perception has incentivised the laptop and tablet OEMs to up the ante in their product launches.  First came HP’s gaming products including OMEN 15 and Pavilion gaming notebooks with advanced graphics systems from NVIDIA. Along with that the company also launched a slew of gaming experience products including Citadel Gaming Chair to provide gamer comfort with adjustable seat height, tilt angle, and built-in pillows along with 4D ADJUSTABLE ARMRESTS. Similarly, the company also launched OMEN Vector mouse and audio gear to provide the gamers an ultimate gaming experience.

Hardly had the euphoria died down that the news came that Asus would launch new gaming laptops in India, starting from Rs 79,990. This Taiwanese giant launched a series of new models in its popular range of products including ROG Strix G15/G17 (G512/G712) and Strix Scar 15/17 (G532/G732) along with 10th Gen Intel Core i7 H-Series processors.

Arnold Su, Business Head, Consumer & Gaming PC, System Business Group, Asus India, said in a press statement. “With the all-new range of ROG laptops, our aim is to engineer the most powerful gaming hardware into a light, portable and budget-friendly chassis – and the Strix and Strix Scar series checks all those boxes perfectly.”

If that is not enough the gaming industry India heard good news from Redmi. The Chinese mobile handset brand launched its first gaming laptop on August 14 known as Redmi G. This gaming laptop features minimal bezels and is a premium laptop that is powerful and looks quite modern. The laptop also comes with a cooling solution and superior performance for gaming and houses Core i5-10200H and Core i5-10300H processors.

Now Lenovo, the global technology leader, launched three new gaming laptops in India – Legion 7i, Legion 5Pi, and Legion 5i. This ‘savage yet stylish’ product line up from Lenovo Legion aims to redefine gaming with innovative gear, high performance, and more immersive gaming experiences. These gaming laptops come with very high configuration on Intel platform and NVIDIA GeForce graphics.

Rahul Agarwal, CEO & MD, Lenovo India said, “Since its launch, Legion has been successful in addressing the large dual-use consumer segment that uses these PCs for serious gaming, as well as several heavy-duty tasks. Finally…

If the reports are to be believed, the opportunity for gaming is certainly expanding and driving the faster growing laptop and tablet market even on vertical trajectory. Of course, we have other players in the race, and it is time to see when and how these players are adding fuel to already burning fire.
