Synology has unveiled C2 Surveillance, a next-generation Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) solution that reimagines cloud monitoring for distributed enterprises. Announced at the company’s headquarters in Taiwan, the offering eliminates traditional infrastructure burdens by providing a server-less, license-free, and rapidly deployable solution designed for multi-site scalability.
Built with a continuity-first architecture, C2 Surveillance ensures uninterrupted recording—even during network outages—by storing footage locally on microSD cards, with optional backup to the C2 Cloud. Its failover offline mode allows for local monitoring even when connectivity is lost, ensuring business continuity and security integrity.

Administrators can deploy and manage cameras in minutes—even via mobile—without specialized training. Integrated AI-powered detection and seamless Windows Active Directory integration streamline identity and access management across distributed teams.
To address connectivity challenges, the platform offers a low bandwidth mode that reduces usage by up to 50% with minimal impact on video quality—ideal for constrained environments.
